Early CrossFit This Morning. (Can you do 30 HandStand Pushups?) If you “Just Eat What I eat”, you just might!

Well, I knew I was headed for CrossFit as soon as I dropped CK off for school.  So, I got to

IMG_4501sleep in a few extra minutes.  But, I also knew that I wanted to get my protein shake in my belly in time for it to not be sloshing around in there when I was running around doing CrossFit.  So, I threw it down the old chute about 7:15….and, I also might have taken a nibble or two off the free range deer and wild boar sausage that CharlyKate was chomping on (while I was waiting for her 04 04 App for Gueststo finish doing so.)  If you have still not purchased yourself some of this incredible stuff, please do it now ……from the Broken Arrow Ranch (or some other purveyor of such fantastic wild and/or free range meats.  No cages at these places.  The animals rotate around a “wild” habitat foraging for their food…just like they were intended to do.  ……..Let’s see……Do you really want to eat bacon that was sourced from a pig that wasn’t even able to move more than a few inches for the majority of its life?  I don’t!)

IMG_4501After I finished an intense CrossFit workout, I knew my “Glycogenic Window” was wide open.  And, as you might guess, I headed on home so that I could make (and 04 06 at 8 thirty amdrink) another one of my Protein Shake Mixtures.  Wow.  It hit the spot.  And, I paired it with some organic strawberries and a glass of my Unsweetened Organic Iced Tea.  Perfect for getting the day in the office started out right.

IMG_4500A side note:  Check out what my 3.9 year old triplets had been eating when I returned from CrossFit!  Although I did see one Peanut Butter “Samwich” on some sort of whole grain bread, the IMG_4498majority of what I saw was the remains of a good amount of free range pork bacon and farm fresh organic scrambled eggs……all paired with some organic berries…and, there wasn’t much left on anyone’s plate.  Alix said they really IMG_4499“chowed down”!  Good job, ladies.  Nice way to start YOUR day!

The day rolled on….and, I started feeling that familiar pang of perceived hunger in the belly region.  I am sure that I was overreacting…..as usual….but, even so, I was glad it was getting close to time to meet my good buddy down at McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood on the Country Club Plaza.  Mike and I eat there quite often….despite the fact that the majority of the wait staff is a tad pompous….We do so simply because you know you will find some sort of wild fish special that is in the Very Affordable range.  And, today was no exception.  If you are looking for a deal on Wild IMG_4503Fish….and, you don’t want to have to prepare it at home….I don’t see how you can possibly go wrong with 7 ounces of Wild Corvina paired with sautéed veggies and an Iced Tea….all for 20 bucks including tax and tip!  Wow.  Fantastic….even though it was about my 20th time of ordering that exact same thing.  And, yes.  That is REAL butter that you see on those Veggies.  And, no.  That doesn’t worry me one bit.  What WOULD worry me would be if someone had forced me to stuff a big slice of bread in my mouth with it all…..thereby resulting in a big glycemic spike in my insulin and glucose levels that would be roughly equal to the same spike one should expect by ingesting a Snicker’s Bar.  That is no exaggeration.  Google it.  A slice of bread has the same glycemic index (roughly) as a Snicker’s Bar.    I would suggest that you avoid eating either of those two options….ever!

IMG_4513After getting back to the office and spending a few hours on the phone, I started wondering about a mid-afternoon snack.  One of the caregivers had accidentally bought the “wrong” organic raw almond butter yesterday at Whole Foods.  (It is Artisana Organic Almond Butter.)  And, as it turned out….although it won’t mix up with my protein shake in a shaker cup….it is simply heaven on an apple.  I suggest that you IMG_4505purchase some yourself at first opportunity exactly for this purpose.  (I should be receiving 16 jars of the Living Tree Community Raw Organic Almond Butter….and, it DOES shake up well with my protein shake….so, no worries.)  I may start stocking both kinds….one for organic apple slice dipping….and, the other for mixing with my famous protein shakes!

Following that, the anticipation of the evening meal started to grow throughout my body…Why?  Cuz I knew IMG_4507what we were having.  My wife had found a recipe for Slow Cooker Pork Tacos.  And, the smell of it had been wafting up from the kitchen all afternoon while it was cooking down there.  (Needless to say, neither of us had any intention of eating the “Taco” portion of our Tacos.  But, we both could tell that the meat that was simmering in the cooker was going to be a thing of magic when paired with some organic greens, tomatoes, avocados, and onions.)  And, Wow.  We were not disappointed. IMG_4508That was melt-in-your-mouth free range pork!  (And, it went very nicely with my organic greens salad.)  I have taken a picture of the recipe for the Pork.  I hope it will be legible…..I will put it on the recipe drop down….and/or I will try to get motivated to re-type it for you.  We’ll see.  Either way, another great evening meal……Oh. Almost forgot, we did pair it all IMG_4506with the remaining portion of that 04 Two Rock California Red that we opened last night.  (I only wish there had been just a LITTLE bit more of it.)

Another great day of Eating What I Eat!
IMG_4512Ooops.  Not sure why.  But, I grabbed a handful of raw organic almonds just after dinner and downed them.  I doubt you need them.  But, if you must…..you can probably sleep well knowing that I did the same.

Over and Out!
